Increasing Access to Education

The Grove Community Outreach funds several afterschool math programs, through PicScience, around the Wiregrass to promote the purpose of education and provide access to STEM possibilities. This afterschool program now serves roughly 30 fourth and fifth-grade kids in the Elba Public Library and three other locations: Hawk Houston Yec Dothan, Alabama; Time Youth of Dothan, Alabama; and the Boys & Girls Club of Daleville, Alabama. The Grove Outreach partnered with educators and scientists to develop a math intervention and enrichment program designed to strengthen foundational math skills among students who need additional support. These essential skills serve as the building blocks for success in higher-level math and science courses.
